Pre-teens Yoga Movement & Mindfulness (ages 9 to 12)

Pre-teens yoga is about having fun through movement, along with exploring the breath and
body connection and is essential for fast growing bodies. It can assist with self-esteem and
confidence, during this challenging time as one enters puberty and tend to be more self-
critical and self-conscious.
This 6-week course is designed to:
Learn the foundations of movement (yoga) and mindfulness
Engage in mindfulness to enable one to focus their awareness on the present
moment and acknowledge, accept their feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations, in a
non-judgemental way.
Develop and build resilience to assist with self-worth, self-management skills to
enhance their overall mental, physical and emotional well-being
Discover breathing techniques that calm, energise and empower an individual, as
they move through their life journey
Learning tools and techniques to address soft versus hard uncertainties as they arise
throughout our daily lives. This can help them build their resilience, and prepare
them better for their future
Improve body awareness, learning to love oneself and finding that beauty comes
from within.
Foster emotional awareness and provide tools to regulate moods
Learn breath and movement techniques to address and understand anxiety
Discover empowerment through a Warrior Poses Series, building on physical well-
being, flexibility and strength
Have fun with partner yoga - building on theme of Trust
Encourage group yoga - building on relationships with each other
Create ones’ own personal practice, foster mindfulness through mandala colouring
and journaling (provided) with prompts, encouraging positivity, gratitude and
happiness!
Incorporate a daily mindful and movement practices one can continue with
throughout their life journey.
