Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TSY) is based on the following key principles:
Internal Focus: TSY shifts the focus from external forms to inner sensations. Participants learn to reconnect with their bodies.
Individual Empowerment: The power lies within each participant, not the facilitator. TSY respects individual agency.
Interoceptive Capacity: TSY cultivates awareness of bodily sensations, promoting self-awareness and reconnection.
Safe Exploration: A modified approach ensures that any discomfort arising from body sensations is managed effectively.
